How I Became a Medium: A Story I Never Expected to Tell

Updated: May 7

The day that changed everything.
The day that changed everything.

I’m going to tell you a little story about how I became a medium. It’s not one I ever imagined I’d be writing, because for most of my life, I was just curious. Curious about what lies beyond, curious about mediums, and whether any of it was real.

Growing up, I’d watch Sylvia Browne on TV, completely captivated.

How does she do that?

Is that real?

Can you imagine being able to do that?

Little did I know, one day I’d be walking that path myself.

It all shifted at a small gathering. I met a woman who gently asked if I was open to receiving a message. She told me she was a medium and that someone was trying to reach me.

It was my dad.

He wanted me to know he had been at my wedding two months earlier.

I’ll never forget that moment. My mind was blown. There was no more doubting.

Before stepping into this work myself, I’d only ever been to three mediums. I felt kind of shy about it, maybe even a little foolish. But the curiosity was too strong to ignore. And funny enough, each one of them told me I could do this work. That I should look into developing.

I laughed. Me? A medium? No way. I wasn’t going to do it.

Then came Sedona.

I went on a retreat called Discover Your True Soul Self, led by some truly incredible people. One of them was a medium I had met a couple of times before. She was offering readings, and while I was no longer skeptical, I was still… hesitant. But something inside said go. So, I did.

This time, the message wasn’t just a gentle nudge. It was a heart-to-heart about how I was opening up, how I was becoming more sensitive, and how this path could bring me so much joy. She shared what my spirit team saw for me and encouraged me to explore it—read a book, take a class, just start.

So, I did. I put my fears aside, picked up a book that made me think, if I can really do this…, why wouldn’t I?

I could help people and have fun doing it.

I took my first class.

And it absolutely blew my mind.

I made a real connection with spirit. And from that moment on, I was all in. I began dedicating most of my free time to development and education.

Now?

That little girl who used to watch TV mediums with awe in her eyes is one herself.

Mediumship found me when I least expected it, and it’s led me to the most meaningful, joy-filled work I’ve ever known.

And this?

This is just the beginning.
